Bide Sauna Beginnings

Kieran

Inspired by my Finnish friends who prompted me to question, why is there not more sauna culture in Scotland? It’s driech, it gets cold and theres water everywhere. Wanted to encourage more people to embrace what the Scottish outdoors have to offer regardless of the weather or time of year.

First got into dooking as a way to clear my head after long days of studying during uni. This naturally introduced me to sauna. What spoke to me was the atmosphere inside the hot room, a space for connection where barriers drop and conversations flow. Sauna can be whatever you want it to be, and I loved that. I knew that it would be fulfilling to bring that experience to others.

Thomas

I was inspired by the Nordic adoption of sauna as part of their day-to-day outdoor lifestyle. Regardless of the weather, the sauna is a great place to build your day around. My favourite part of sauna is the different types of people you get talking to.
